Who We Are
The Western Australian Institute of Emotion-Focused Therapy (waiEFT) aims to help facilitate the growth of Emotion-focused approaches to therapy in Western Australia.
Dr Sharbanee has been working in Emotion-Focused Therapy since 2010, including two years training at the York EFT Institute in Canada with Leslie Greenberg, the founder of EFT, and ongoing mentorship with Greenberg in the years since.
He is a certified trainer with the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy (ISEFT), currently the only ISEFT-certified trainer based in Western Australia, and serves on ISEFT's Research and Education Committee. He is a co-editor of the journal Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapies and publishes actively in the EFT research literature.
What is Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)?
EFT is based on the understanding that emotions are a primary source of information that orientate us to what matters to us in the world. Our emotions affect the way we think, what we do, and what we remember.
